The Collective PAC Announces First Municipal Endorsements of 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed Kesha Hodge Washington, Ce-Ce Gerlach, and Dr. Jared Williams in city council races in Phoenix, Arizona, Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Fort Worth, Texas respectively.

Mrs. Kesha Hodge Washington is running for the District Eight seat in the Phoenix City Council. Mrs. Hodge Washington formerly served the community as the Assistant Attorney General and was later appointed as Special Deputy Attorney General, where she was responsible for investigating and prosecuting election law violations. If elected, she aspires to reorganize city government to be more responsive, transparent, and accountable while investing in economic development, affordable housing, and securing resources for District Eight.

Ms. Ce-ce Gerlach is running for re-election to the At-Large seat for Allentown City Council. For 12 years, Councilwoman Gerlach has been advocating for affordable housing, livable wages for teachers, and economic development. If re-elected, she plans to continue being the voice of the community and advocating for the best interests of Allentown residents. 

Dr. Jared Williams is running for re-election to the Fort Worth City Council in District Six. Dr. Williams made history in 2021 by becoming the youngest council member to be elected. Since being sworn in, Councilman Williams has invested in community safety through youth gun violence prevention programs and homeless crisis teams. If re-elected, he plans to continue to advocate for economic development, safer communities, and ensuring the best opportunities for the families in Fort Worth. 

The city council race in Phoenix, Arizona will take place on March 14, 2023. Voters will have from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain time to cast their votes. Registered voters in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Fort Worth, Texas will get to make their voices heard on May 1, 2023 and May 6, 2023.
