The Collective PAC Congratulates Sharetta Smith on Winning Her Primary Election for Mayor of Lima, Ohio

WASHINGTON, DC Today, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government, congratulated Sharetta Smith on winning the May 4 primary election and getting one step closer to becoming the first Black woman mayor of Lima, Ohio. Co-founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James released the following statement: 

“Lima will be stronger with Sheretta Smith as a champion for social justice in office and The Collective PAC is proud to support her in her bid to serve the people of Lima, Ohio. Having experienced leaders in city halls across the country is critical as cities like Lima work to expand economic opportunities for residents and ensure equity and fairness in our health care, education and criminal justice systems. Sharetta Smith is a changemaker who is up for the challenge and we’re proud to stand with her as she advances to the general election on November 2nd”

As the chief of staff for the outgoing mayor of Lima and chairwoman for the Lima Housing Taskforce, Sharetta has a unique understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the city. She is committed to finding equitable solutions for Lima’s neighborhoods by investing in infrastructure, public safety, education and the economy.
