WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed Hon. Alisha Thomas Searcy for Georgia State School Superintendent.

Hon. Alisha Thomas Searcy is running for Georgia State School Superintendent. Hon. Thomas Searcy formerly served the Georgia House of Representatives in District 39 and was the first Black elected official representing Cobb County. After leaving the legislature, she became the Superintendent of Schools at Ivy Preparatory Academies, a network of all-girls public schools. Currently, Mrs. Thomas Searcy is the Chief Executive Officer of her educational leadership consulting firm, AT Morgan Enterprises. Hon. Thomas Searcy is dedicated to ensuring that equitable opportunities are created for every student and that each student is equipped with the resources that they need to successfully thrive.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is proud to endorse Hon. Alisha Thomas Searcy for Georgia State School Superintendent. During her tenure as the State Representative for Cobb County, Hon. Thomas Searcy authored the state’s intra-district transfer law, allowing parents to select the best public school for their children regardless of zip code; and co-authored the state’s constitutional amendment that created the State Charter School Commission. Even after 20 years of experience in education, Hon. Thomas Searcy’s dedication and desire to provide every student with an equitable  and accessible education has not wavered. We look forward to seeing Hon. Alisha Thomas Searcy continue her legacy of enacting change this November.”
