Fighting for Equal Representation
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government — endorsed Paul Mullin for Petersburg City Treasurer and Bridgette Craighead for the House of Delegate in Virginia.
Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:
“The Collective PAC is thrilled to endorse Paul Mullin for Petersburg City Treasurer and Bridgette Craighead for the House of Delegates in Virginia. With over 20 years of managerial customer service experience in the public and private sectors and over 10 years of local municipal collections, Mr. Mullin is the experienced leader the City of Petersburg needs. As the former Deputy Treasurer for the city, Mr. Mullins not only understands the needs of the community but also how to efficiently run the office.
Bridgette Craighead is a proud mother, small business owner and advocate who is running to represent District 9 in the Virginia House of Delegates. As a lifelong resident of Virginia, Ms. Craighead understands the challenges facing families, small businesses and workers and will put her “people first plan” into work when she is elected. From working to fully fund school budgets to closing the broadband and transportation gaps, Ms. Craighead is ready to get to work on behalf of her community. The Collective PAC is proud to stand by Pual Mullin and Bridgette Craighead as they strive to bring progressive leadership to their communities.”
Paul Mullin (Candidate for Petersburg Treasurer) and his family have lived in Petersburg for over 10 years. During his time in Virginia, Mr. Mullens has been an active member of his community and currently serves as the scoutmaster to Boy Scout Troop 100 out of Gilfield Baptist Church and a unit commissioner through the Boy Scouts of America’s Crater District. Mr. Mullins is a certified treasury professional and a member of the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia. In January 2020, he was asked to serve as the Program and Operations Manager for the City of Richmond’s Treasury Department where Mr. Mullins revitalized the city’s cash operations and delinquent collections department
Bridgette Craighead (Candidate for Virginia House of Delegates, District 9), a Virginia native who was born and raised in Rocky Mount, has learned firsthand the importance of faith, resilience and hard work. Ms. Craighead owns a cosmetology business, and as a small business owner and employer, understands the unique challenges facing area businesses as they collectively navigate the ongoing pandemic. Bridget Craighead has been an active and dedicated member of her community, from organizing voter registration drives and giving voters rides to the polls, and will bring a fresh perspective to the Virginia House of Delegates next year.
