Wednesday, January 26th, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed Berdetta Hodge for Tempe City Council in Arizona.

Beretta Hodge is a dedicated public servant and has been a resident of Tempe, Arizona for over 40 years. Ms. Hodge’s political career began in 2016, becoming the first Black woman elected as the at-large seat of the Tempe Union High School District Governing Board; she is also the Vice President of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center. Her passion to fight for the social, economic, and educational future of Tempe led to partnerships with local businesses and nonprofits. Ms. Hodge plans to invest in transportation infrastructure, build transparency with the government and the community, and create high-quality housing.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to endorse Berdetta Hodge for Tempe City Council in Arizona. Ms. Hodge is a champion for education, job opportunities, and economic development. She plans to be an innovative leader and use working relationships with the mayors of Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, and other local and statewide officials to actively represent and advocate for the communities’ needs. We are proud to have also endorsed Ms. Hodge’s son, Jevin, as a candidate for Congress in Arizona’s 6th congressional district. We are sure this political mother-son duo is dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable lifestyle for all the communities in Arizona.”
