WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed state and local candidates in California and Iowa.
California
- Commissioner Myrlys Stockdale Coleman is running for Sacramento County Superior Court. Commissioner Stockdale Colemen currently serves Sacramento County as the Family Law Commissioner and is a current adjunct professor at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law. She is a judicial officer with two decades of experience in the law and nearly 10 years working in courts. If elected, Commissioner Stockdale Coleman plans to continue to preside over cases with understanding, fairness, and integrity.
- Councilmember Rex Richardson is running for mayor of Long Beach, California. Councilmember Richardson currently serves District nine in the City of Long Beach and has been a dedicated public servant since 2014. He is a regional leader with a proven track record of collaboration and problem solving that has helped improve the lives of Long Beach residents. Councilmember Richardson is committed to taking on the city’s biggest challenges, building a new economy for all, and ensuring every person has the jobs, housing, and economic opportunities so that no resident or neighborhood is left behind.
- Mr. Thomas Allison is running for Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge. Mr. Allison currently serves as a legal professor at Valley College and the University of La Verne. He also practices family law, criminal law, and bankruptcy law, among others at his own law firm. In 2021, the Los Angeles County Temporary Judge Program appointed Mr. Allison to serve as a Los Angeles County Volunteer Temporary Judge. If elected, Mr. Allison aspires to use his diverse and well rounded experience to create equitable justice in the courtroom.
Iowa
- Ms. Tiara L. Mays is running for Iowa State House of Representatives District 43. Ms. Mays is a health insurance manager and an author, and because of her continued advocacy for equity in education and healthcare for our state’s most vulnerable populations, was recently elected as the first woman of color to serve on the Heartland Area Education Agency Board of Directors. If elected, Ms. Mays plans to continue to advocate for public education, healthcare reform, and economic development.

The Collective PAC is strategically focused on creating a truly equitable democracy where our nation’s local, state, and federal governments have diverse and talented elected leadership and Black people are fully represented in positions of power to create the policies necessary to progress our communities forward.
