The Collective PAC Congratulates Lourin Hubbard on Advancing to the Run-off for California’s 22nd U.S. Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  —  congratulates Lourin Hubbard as he advances to a run-off election to fill out the remainder of Republican Rep. Devin Nunes’ term in the 22nd District.

Lourin Hubbard (CA – 22) is running to represent California’s 22nd Congressional District. Mr. Hubbard was born and raised in California’s Central Valley to a single mother who instilled in him the determination to always fight for what is right and what he believed in. Mr. Hubbard has been a public servant for most of his career, first in the Fresno County Department of Social Services, where he worked to connect low-income families to community-based resources through programs such as CalFRESH and Medi-Cal. Now, he is leading frontline conservation efforts, supporting family farms, and combating droughts as an operations manager at the California Department of Water Resources. Mr. Hubbard is running for Congress to represent and advocate for the people of Central Valley, as someone who shares the lived experiences of many families in his community and will put their interests first.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to congratulate Lourin Hubbard as he advances to a special election run-off on June 7th to fill the vacant seat in the 22nd District. Mr. Hubbard defied the odds and ran a very strong campaign in the primary by talking to voters in the Central Valley about a new era of economic growth and equality within government and his plans to put the community at the forefront of every decision. That’s just the type of leadership the residents of CA-22 need and we are proud to continue championing Mr. Hubbard on his journey to the run-off election in June.”

The Collective PAC Congratulates the Newly Confirmed United States Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates United States Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as she takes her place to serve as the first Black woman Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is proud and honored to congratulate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court. Today’s bipartisan Senate confirmation has remedied a long overdue injustice in America, by putting a Black woman on the highest court in the land. This is a step forward on the path towards equity in representation on every level of government. Through her many written opinions, Justice Jackson has demonstrated a deep understanding of and fidelity to the Constitution. She has broad experience across the judicial landscape – as a federal appellate judge, a federal district court judge, a member of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, an attorney in private practice, and as a federal public defender. Justice Jackson has shattered a 233 year-old glass ceiling today, paving the way for other outstanding Black women jurists to follow in her footsteps.”
