The Collective PAC Endorses Berdetta Hodge For Tempe City Council in Arizona

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed Berdetta Hodge for Tempe City Council in Arizona.

Beretta Hodge is a dedicated public servant and has been a resident of Tempe, Arizona for over 40 years. Ms. Hodge’s political career began in 2016, becoming the first Black woman elected as the at-large seat of the Tempe Union High School District Governing Board; she is also the Vice President of the Booker T. Washington Child Development Center. Her passion to fight for the social, economic, and educational future of Tempe led to partnerships with local businesses and nonprofits. Ms. Hodge plans to invest in transportation infrastructure, build transparency with the government and the community, and create high-quality housing.

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to endorse Berdetta Hodge for Tempe City Council in Arizona. Ms. Hodge is a champion for education, job opportunities, and economic development. She plans to be an innovative leader and use working relationships with the mayors of Tempe, Phoenix, Mesa, and other local and statewide officials to actively represent and advocate for the communities’ needs. We are proud to have also endorsed Ms. Hodge’s son, Jevin, as a candidate for Congress in Arizona’s 6th congressional district. We are sure this political mother-son duo is dedicated to creating an inclusive and equitable lifestyle for all the communities in Arizona.”

The Collective PAC Endorses Judge DaSean Jones For Re-election in Harris County, Texas

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  —  endorsed DaSean Jones for re-election in Harris County, Texas.

Judge DaSean Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tuskegee University, Masters of Arts in management and leadership from Webster University, and a Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Before serving on the bench, he was a trial lawyer specializing in criminal defense, employment, and personal injury. Judge Jones is a decorated Army veteran with over 19  years of service and two combat tours. Now serving as a Judge Advocate in the Reserves, he is the Legal Advisor to the U.S. Army Foreign Counterintelligence Activity. He has also previously served on the Advisory Board for the Houston Community College Corrections Education and was the Chair of the Warrant Committee for the Board of Criminal District Judges.

“The Collective PAC is proud to endorse Judge DaSean Jones on his re-election campaign for the 180th District in Harris County, Texas. Judge Jones believes in the fair application of the law regardless of socioeconomic status and has managed over 2,000 criminal cases. A criminal justice reform advocate, Judge Jones facilitates internship opportunities in the legal field for the underprivileged. He plans to use current and emerging technologies to increase access to the courtroom. Judge Jones’ continued vision of alternative justice for rehabilitation instead of punitive incarceration is the passion that Harris County needs to keep moving forward for progressive success.”

The Collective PAC Endorses Carla D. Brailey for Lieutenant Governor of Texas

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed Carla D. Brailey for Lieutenant Governor of Texas.

Carla D. Brailey, Ph.D is a dedicated professor of sociology at Texas Southern University and served as the Vice Chair of the Texas Democratic Party. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Texas Southern University and several degrees from Howard University. Dr. Brailey is a sought after subject matter expert in the areas of social justice, diversity and inclusion, Black women and empowerment, and organizational development. Throughout her career, she has worked as a consultant for nonprofits, government agencies, and educational institutions. As Vice Chair of the Texas Democratic Party, she has worked hard to elect more Democrats into office across the state, to ensure that all Texans have strong neighborhood schools, higher incomes, and an economy that works for everyone.

“The Collective PAC is excited to endorse Carla D. Brailey, Ph.D. for Lieutenant Governor of Texas. If elected, she would be the first Black person and woman to serve in this office. Her top priorities for the state are affordable healthcare, increasing employment opportunities, education, and addressing the power grid. The Collective PAC Endorses Assemblyman Mike Gipson For Re-election in California

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government —  endorsed Mike Gipson for re-election in California.

Assemblyman Mike Gipson has represented the 64th district of California since 2014 and has led the charge for education, expanded access to healthcare, addressed homelessness, and criminal justice reform. Currently serving as the Assembly Democratic Caucus Chair, Rep. Gipson is responsible for guiding the caucus in making legislative decisions. Assemblyman Gipson has secured $2.238 billion for the 64th district, funding that will be distributed to several programs designed for the improvement of the district including the Student Success Coach Grant Program, a program dedicated to empowering and serving the needs of low-income students. Before serving in the assembly, Rep. Gipson served as a Carson City Council Member and police officer.
