The Collective PAC Endorses Claretta Duckett-Freeman for Lansing City Council in Michigan

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government — endorsed Claretta Duckett-Freeman for the Lansing City Council in Michigan.

Recently, Mrs. Duckett-Freeman began a new career as a firefighter-EMT for Windsor Township. Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is proud to endorse Claretta Duckett-Freeman for city council in Lansing, Michigan. Mrs. Duckett-Freeman is a dedicated wife, mother, community activist and first responder, who once elected, will continue to work to improve the lives of every family and resident in the city. Mrs. Duckett-Freeman is committed to increasing investments in city departments like Parks and Recreation and Human Relations and Community Services and will focus on the creation of affordable housing while securing safe shelters for the homeless population in the city. The Collective PAC Endorses Amara Andrews for Mayor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government — endorsed Amara Andrews for Mayor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to endorse Amara Andrews for Mayor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mrs. Andrews is a mother, businesswoman and community leader, who has lived and worked in the city for nearly ten years. She currently serves as the head of business development and communications for the transportation division of TrueNorth Companies. Mrs. Andrews is a woman who sees the divisiveness in Cedar Rapids and knows what it takes to bring everyone together. She has seen the failure of the current leadership in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and knows that only new leadership can correct the course. Mrs. Andrews is a leader who will focus on workers, support labor and support working families. The Collective PAC is proud to endorse Amara Andrews for Mayor and looks forward to helping her win in November.”

Amara Andrews is originally from California and has lived in Cedar Rapids with her husband and four children for almost a decade. Before choosing to settle down in Iowa, her family lived in eight different states. Mrs. Amara’s experience living in many states and cities across the country can bring a fresh perspective to Cedar Rapids. In addition to working for TrueNorth Companies, she also serves on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids, president of the board of the Academy for Scholastic and Personal Success and is the vice president of the board for the grassroots group Advocates for Social Justice. Amara Andrews is the right progressive thinker and leader who can bring opportunities to the residents of Cedar Rapids.
