The Collective PAC Endorses Nicola Williams and Quinton Zondervan for City Council in Cambridge, Massachusetts

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government — endorsed Nicola Williams and Quinton Zondervan for Cambridge City Council. Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“Collective change begins at the municipal level, and local champions play an incredibly important role in moving progress forward. The Collective PAC is proud to endorse Nicola Williams and Quinton Zondervan for Cambridge City Council. Both candidates are strong progressive leaders who have an activist background and are determined to make the City of Cambridge a more just, equitable and accessible place to work and live. We are confident that if elected, Nicola Williams and Quinton Zondervan will work diligently to address the challenges that face Cambridge with a vision towards progress that impacts all residents.”

Nicola Williams has been a dedicated member of the Cambridge community for over 20 years. Ms. Williams is the founder and President of The Williams Agency, a boutique marketing firm that works with social and progressive causes. A lot of her work over the past 24 years with her company has been in strategic planning and the engagement of hard-to-reach and underserved communities. Before starting her own firm, Ms. Williams served as an Associate Director for the Cambridge Business Development Center. If elected, Nicola Williams will use her office to address the achievement gap, environmental issues, affordable housing, accessible modes of transportation and more.

Quinton Zondervan was first elected to the Cambridge City Council in 2017 and chairs the Health and Environment Committee and the Public Safety Committee. During his time serving as a councilman, Mr. Zondervan has seen firsthand how COVID-19 laid bare the inequities within the community that existed long before the pandemic. Councilman Zondervan has been a leader on affordable housing, rethinking policing, climate change and ending homelessness. Quinton Zondervan is an experienced organizer with a deep understanding of municipal policy, who settled in Cambridge in 2004. Prior to becoming a councilman, he worked professionally as a software and biotech executive.
