The Collective PAC Endorses Tameika Isaac Devine for Mayor of Columbia, South Carolina

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government, endorsed Tameika Isaac Devine for mayor of Columbia, South Carolina. Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is proud to endorse Tameika Isaac Devine for mayor of Columbia, South Carolina. Born and raised in Columbia, Tameika is a proven leader with a track record of championing policies and programs that have a positive, direct impact on the city she calls home. From spearheading the restructuring of the city courts and establishing the criminal district court to starting a banking program that helps to ensure financial stability for all city residents, Tameika has demonstrated a clear commitment to making the city of Columbia a place where everyone can thrive, and The Collective PAC is committed to helping her become Columbia’s first Black woman mayor.”

Tameika Isaac Devine has served as a member of the Columbia City Council for 19 years, making history as the first, and still only, Black woman elected to the council and the first Black person elected to an at-large seat. During her time on the council, she has prioritized equity and inclusion, economic development and public safety. As mayor of Columbia, Tameika will reimagine policing in ways that will keep vulnerable communities safe, confront the historical lack of investment in underserved neighborhoods and work to provide year round youth employment opportunities. Tameika will continue to take on the city’s hardest challenges and center her efforts on the pursuit of racial, environmental and economic justice.

The Collective PAC Endorses Mandela Barnes for United States Senate in Wisconsin

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government, endorsed Mandela Barnes for the United States Senate in Wisconsin. Co-founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to endorse Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin. As the 45th Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, Lt. Governor Barnes supports a platform of sustainability and equity to fight for solutions that invest in opportunities and fairness for everyone in Wisconsin, regardless of zip code. He is a proven leader who served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, authoring legislation to provide tuition free-enrollment at technical colleges for students, decriminalize marijuana and expand eligibility for the earned income tax credit. The Collective PAC was proud to support Lt. Governor Barnes during his successful 2018 election to his current position and we’re confident that he can flip Wisconsin’s U.s. Senate seat from red to blue next November. We look forward to helping Lt. Governor Barnes make history again, this time as the first Black U.S. Senator from Wisconsin.”

A native of Milwaukee, Mandela Barnes serves as Wisconsin’s 45th Lieutenant Governor and is the first Black person to be elected to this office. As a Wisconsin State Senator, Mandela worked hard to create jobs through local investments with a focus on refunding public education and modernizing Wisconsin’s public transportation system. Lt. Governor Barnes has been an active member in a number of organizations that serve the greater Milwaukee area including but not limited to: Citizen Action of Wisconsin, the New Leaders Council, Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals and the Milwaukee NAACP.
