Fighting for Equal Representation
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government — endorsed Dawn J. Rattan for Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Board of Trustees in Kansas City, Kansas.
Mrs. Rattan, who was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, has been a dedicated member of the Johnson County community for the past 18 years. She is a proud mother of three children and owner of Everfit, a community of fun and fitness minded individuals in Shawnee, Kansas. She is also a proud board member of the Chamber of Commerce and serves as vice chair of the Johnson County Charter Commission. Before owning her own business, Mrs Rattan spent 11 years working in operations and human resources for Procter & Gamble. Earning her degree in chemical engineering from Florida A&M University, Mrs. Rattan understands from personal experience that education can change a person’s life; motivating her to serve as a change agent for others by serving as a trustee for JCCC.

As a trained engineer who’s been on the receiving end of educational opportunities as a recipient of a full ride scholarship to college, if elected to the trustee board, Mrs. Rattan will work to improve access to college for all students in Johnson County. Mrs. Rattan understands that equity in educational access includes transportation, affordability and connectivity, and is committed to making sure the JCCC meets the needs of their students. The Collective PAC is proud to stand with Dawn J. Rattan as she strives to become a good steward of the Johnson County Community College community.”
