Fighting for Equal Representation
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates our endorsed congressional candidates in California and New Jersey on primary victories.
California
Dr. Kermit Jones (CA – 04) is running to represent California’s 4th Congressional District. Dr. Jones has served as a doctor for 15 years, first as a Navy flight surgeon and then as a civilian, to ensure all people receive personal and meaningful medical care. Dr.Jones plans to use his sense of responsibility and patriotism to guide him today and the reason he believes that no person should be deprived of their basic human right to equal and affordable healthcare.
State Senator Sydney Kamlager (CA – 30) is running to represent California in the United States Congress. A constant advocate for children, State Sen. Kamlager was appointed to the Los Angeles County Commission on Children and Families, as well as elected to the Los Angeles Community College Board. She plans to fight for accessible and expandable healthcare, education, economic development, and criminal justice reform. She is running to fill the seat of Rep. Karen Bass.
New Jersey
Mr. Tim Alexander (NJ-02) is running to represent New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District. After being racially profiled by the police and falsely arrested because of misidentification, Mr. Alexander felt compelled to pursue a career in law enforcement and bring change to the way agencies interacted with the communities they served. If elected to the House of Representatives, he will focus on national police training reform, infrastructure spending for his district, and fighting climate change.
Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:
“The Collective PAC is proud to congratulate our endorsed congressional candidates on their primary victories in California and New Jersey. Each candidate has a legacy of tirelessly and fiercely advocating for the welfare of their communities, and they all have the ambition and tenacity to fight for legislation that will benefit their constituents. We are proud to support Dr. Kermit Jones, State Senator Sydney Kamleger, and Tim Alexander as they advance to the November ballot.”
