Monday, July 25th, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates Wes Moore on his primary victory to become the first Black Governor of Maryland.

Mr. Wes Moore, a native of Takoma Park, Maryland, is an award-winning author, combat veteran, Rhodes Scholar, and former CEO of one of the largest anti-poverty organizations in the country. As a son of Maryland, Mr. Moore is committed to helping all residents thrive by strengthening the state’s infrastructure through economic development, accessible healthcare, and high-quality educational opportunities.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to stand by Wes Moore as he advances to the November general election and becomes one step closer to making history as Maryland’s first Black governor. Wes is an innovative leader committed to fighting for equity to address the issues that matter most to Marylanders: affordable healthcare, quality education, economic development, public safety, accountability, and transparency of those who are elected to serve. It’s his personal history of facing and overcoming adversity that has prepared Wes to serve in public office –  he understands that the revitalization of Maryland extends past wealth equality and includes issues like the extension of transportation infrastructure and improving community-police relations. The Collective PAC is excited to support Wes Moore in his pursuit to improve the quality of life for all Marylanders this coming November and we’ll do all we can to ensure he’s elected as the state’s next Governor.”
