The Collective PAC Congratulates Odessa Kelly On Primary Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates Odessa Kelly on her primary victory in Tennessee.

Ms. Odessa Kelly is running for Tennessee Seventh Congressional District. For the past 14 years, she has served the city of Nashville as a member of the department of parks and recreation, leading the Napier Community Center for more than a decade. In addition to working in parks and recreation, Ms. Kelly co-founded Stand Up Nashville in 2016 and took on big fights for racial and economic justice. Ms. Kelly knows firsthand the struggles and the sacrifices that her neighbors have faced because she has faced them too. If elected she plans to fight for a brighter and more equitable future for all.

The Collective PAC Congratulates State Representative Jamila Taylor On Primary Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates State Representative Jamila Taylor on her primary victory in Washington.

 

State Representative Jamila Taylor is running for re-election to the Washington State House of Representatives in District 30. State Rep. is a public interest attorney, community advocate, and small business owner. During her first term, she became Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus and sponsored legislation for expanding scholarships for community and technical schools. State Rep. Taylor also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Housing, Human Services, and Veteran Committee, and the House Liaison for the North Star Project (Intellectual / Development Disabilities Advocacy). She established her own legal practice and nonprofit in 2017, and later joined the Northwest Justice Project, as their statewide advocacy counsel; managing a network of attorneys representing domestic violence survivors and other crime victims. If re-elected State Rep. Taylor plans to continue to advocate for affordable housing, safer neighborhoods, expanding workforce opportunities, and addressing the homelessness crisis.

The Collective PAC Congratulates Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist On Re-election Primary Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  — congratulates Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist on his  primary victory in Michigan. 

 

Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II is running for re-election in Michigan. Before serving as the Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Gilchrist graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a degree in engineering and computer science, and worked as a software engineer at Microsoft. Lt. Governor Gilchrist is an engineer, social entrepreneur, and community organizer who believes in investing in the communities of Michigan. He co-chairs the Michigan Joint Task Force on Jail and Pretrial Incarceration and the Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities. Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist plans to continue his legacy of creating economic and job opportunities, rebuilding Michigan’s roads and bridges, investing in education and childcare, and keeping communities safe.

The Collective PAC Congratulates Representative Cori Bush & Jamie Johnson On Primary Victories

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government —  congratulates Representative Cori Bush and Jamie Johnson on their primary victories in Missouri.

  • Representative Cori Bush is running for re-election to Missouri’s First Congressional District. Congresswoman Bush is an activist, nurse, pastor, and community leader. During her first term, she introduced transformative legislation such as the Green New Deal for Cities and the People’s Response Act to congress. Rep. Bush also rebuilt crumbling infrastructure, cleaned up the community’s natural resources, like Coldwater Creek, and led a national campaign to prevent people from being evicted. If re-elected, Congresswoman Bush seeks to keep advocating for voting rights, fighting for reproductive rights, and transforming public safety. 

 

  • Ms. Jamie Johnson is running for the Missouri House of Representatives in District 12. Ms. Johnson attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Planning and Design and Master’s in Organizational Development Psychology, and a certification in Executive Leadership Coaching from Avila University. Currently, she serves as the Vice-Chair of the Platte County Democratic Central Committee and sits on the board of directors for the Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City. If elected, Ms. Jonhson plans to enact legislation that will fully fund public education, support veterans, and common-sense gun laws.
