The Collective PAC Congratulates Our Endorsed Candidates in North Carolina On Their Primary Victories

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  —  congratulates all of our endorsed candidates in North Carolina on their primary victories.

North Carolina

  • Hon. Cheri Beasley is running to represent North Carolina in the United States Senate. She has a long track record of serving the people of North Carolina as a District Court Judge for the 12th Judicial District in Cumberland County, an Associate Judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and the first Black woman Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. If elected, Ms. Beasley will be the first Black person to represent North Carolina in the U.S. Senate.

  • State Senator Valerie Foushee (NC – 04) is running to represent North Carolina’s fourth congressional district. Over the past 24 years, State Senator Foushee has gone from serving on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board, to being the first Black woman elected to the Orange County Board of Commissioners, to serving in the North Carolina State House and then the State Senate. If elected to Congress, she will be a champion for working families, fight to reform the criminal justice system, and fight against climate change.

  • Mr. Allen Buansi is running for North Carolina House District 56. Mr. Buansi’s vision for North Carolina is to actively invest in public education, foster opportunities for everyone, especially for the vulnerable, and make healthcare more affordable and accessible for everyone.

  • Ms. Bettina Umstead is running for re-election to the Durham Board of Education District Two. If re-elected, Ms. Umstead aims to continue to invest in the students and educators of Durham.
