The Collective PAC Endorses a Slate of Candidates For Statewide Office in Alabama, California, Georgia, and Florida

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  —  has endorsed a slate of candidates running for statewide office in Alabama, California, Georgia, and Florida.

Alabama

  • Mr. Wendell Major is running for Attorney General in Alabama. Mr. Major is a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran, former Deputy Sheriff, and currently serves as the first Black Police Chief of the City of Tarrant, Alabama. He has dedicated his entire life to protecting and serving the community.  If elected, he plans to put the safety of every Alabama resident over politics.

 

California

  • Dr. Shirley Weber is running for Secretary of State in California. After being nominated to the position in the fall of 2020, Dr. Weber was confirmed in January of 2021 by a bipartisan majority in both houses of the California legislature. Secretary Webber is committed to strengthening voting rights, improving transparency within elections, and continuing to restore the trust between the community and the government. 

 

Georgia

  • Ms. Chandra Farley is running for Georgia’s Public Service Commission. Ms. Farley currently serves as the CEO of ReSolve, a consulting practice focusing on increasing the impact of energy and climate initiatives. If elected, she aspires to build an equitable, affordable, and clean future for all Georgia residents. 

 

Florida 

  • Ms. Aramis Ayala is running for Attorney General in Florida. Ms. Ayala is a civil rights advocate and former Florida State Attorney, who served as a public defender and Assistant State Attorney for almost 15 years. If elected, she plans to advocate for voting and civil rights, reproductive rights, and give a voice to all Floridians. If elected, Ms. Ayala will once again make history as Florida’s first Black Attorney General.

The Collective PAC is strategically focused on creating a truly equitable democracy where our nation’s local, state, and federal governments have diverse and talented elected leadership and Black people are fully represented in positions of power to create the policies necessary to progress our communities forward. Over the past five years, The Collective PAC has successfully helped 300 Black candidates win elections across the United States.

The Collective PAC Endorses Three More Candidates to Send to Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  —  has endorsed a slate of candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in California, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

California

  • Ms. Aarika Rhodes is running to represent California’s 32nd Congressional District. Ms. Rhodes is a dedicated teacher, advocate for education, and campaign organizer. If elected, she plans to use her experiences to fight for foster care reform, closing the wage gap, and equality in education.

 

Michigan

  • Ms. Rhonda Powell is running for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District. Ms. Powell is a native of Macomb County, Michigan and if elected, plans to advocate for equal pay, accessible and affordable healthcare, accountability within the government, and voting rights. 

 

Pennsylvania

  • State Representative Summer Lee is running for Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District. As a State legislator, she has fought tirelessly to lift up movements and bring real change to her community. If elected, State Representative Lee plans to fight for economic justice and union jobs, justice reform, and environmental justice.

The Collective PAC Congratulates Dr. Lisa D. Cook on being Confirmed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates Dr. Lisa D. Cook as she takes her place as the first Black woman to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is proud to congratulate Dr. Lisa D. Cook as the first Black woman to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors since it was established 109 years ago. This is a step forward on the path towards equity in representation on every level of government. Her extensive academic credentials include appointments at Harvard University, Stanford University and Michigan State University. 

In addition, Dr. Cook’s innovative ideas have drawn praise from many prominent economists and led to her serving on President Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, as a senior advisor at the U.S. Treasury, on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and as a member of theBoard of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Dr. Cook’s monumental confirmation answers the long-awaited call for diversity and reaffirms that race and gender should not be barriers to leadership roles that have consequential impacts on the national economy.”
