The Collective PAC Congratulates Tishaura Jones on Advancing to the General Election in the St. Louis Mayoral Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC, the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political representation and power across all levels of government, congratulated Tishaura Jones on advancing to the general election in the race for mayor of St. Louis, Missouri. Collective Future, The Collective PAC’s 501(c)4 affiliate, spent $25,000 on digital ads supporting Tishaura ahead of the primary. Quentin James, founder of The Collective PAC, released the following statement:

“The Collective PAC is thrilled to congratulate Tishaura Jones as she moves one step closer to becoming the first Black woman to lead the city of St. Louis. Throughout her impressive career in public service, Tishaura has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to her community with an eye towards progressing St. Louis forward. She has led with transparency and accountability as the city’s treasurer and will bring those critical values to city hall once elected. Tishaura is an outstanding, experienced candidate for mayor and we look forward to helping her make history next month.”

Tishaura Jones, a champion for working families, has spent her career serving the people of Missouri. She represented the 63rd district in the Missouri House of Representatives before becoming the first Black woman to serve as Treasurer of St. Louis. During her tenure, Tishaura has helped the city earn and save more than $30 million and created the Office of Financial Empowerment, helping more than 16,000 public school students start saving for higher education through the College Kids Program. As mayor, Tishaura will be committed to building a new St. Louis that is united, strong, confident, and equitable.

The Collective Remembers the Incomparable Vernon Jordan

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective, the nation’s largest group of affiliated organizations dedicated to increasing Black political representation and power across all levels of government, honors the life and legacy of civil rights, political, and corporate leader Vernon Jordan. Founders of The Collective, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“Few throughout history have truly embodied the values of justice, honor, dignity, and courage like Vernon Jordan, a trailblazer whose activism spanned generations and bettered countless lives. From his leadership as a field director for the national office of the NAACP, to his tenure as president of the National Urban League, to his storied legal and corporate career, Mr. Jordan was a standard bearer for civil rights and equity in all facets of American society.

As alumni of Howard University and former national NAACP field staff, we have long been inspired by Mr. Jordan’s fearless work and unmatched tenacity. His life will always serve as a model for our own careers as we continue his fight for liberty, justice, and power for the Black community. Mr. Jordan was “Black Excellence” personified and his legacy of truth and service will undoubtedly continue to impact us all for many years to come.”

Collective Future Announces $25,000 Digital Ad Campaign in Final Push to Elect St. Louis Mayoral Candidate Tishaura Jones

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, ahead of tomorrow’s primary election, Collective Future , the 501(c)4 affiliate of the nation’s largest organization dedicated to increasing Black political representation across all levels of government, announced a $25,000 digital ad campaign in support of St. Louis mayoral candidate Tishaura Jones. Digital ads targeting likely St. Louis voters have been running since February 26th. Quentin James, founder of Collective Future, released the following statement:

“As the current health crisis continues to lay bare our nation’s existing inequities, it is critical cities like St. Louis have experienced and compassionate leaders who are ready to take on these challenges from day one. From the statehouse to the treasurer’s office, Tishaura Jones has consistently proven herself to be the champion St. Louisans need. We are proud to stand with her once again in her historic bid to be the city’s first Black woman mayor. With the primary election around the corner, we’re confident that this five-figure investment will help ensure that Tishaura not only advances to the runoff, but becomes the next mayor of St. Louis.”

The Collective Celebrates Women’s History Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, The Collective, the nation’s largest group of affiliated organizations dedicated to increasing Black political representation across all levels of government, celebrates Women’s History Month. Founders of The Collective, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

“This Women’s History Month, we honor and celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Black women leaders and groundbreakers whose struggles, victories, and enduring commitment to justice and liberty fuel The Collective’s mission to secure equitable representation for all people in positions of power. Black women continue to be at the forefront of progressive leadership, offering critical perspectives and moral clarity on how to address the most pressing issues of our time. As we lift up the historic election of Vice President Kamala Harris and the record number of Black women serving in Congress this Women’s History Month, we also take stock of the work left to be done and the barriers left to be broken. The Collective remains committed to uplifting the leadership of Black women as we prioritize electing a Black woman to the U.S. Senate in 2022 and advocating for Black women candidates to be equally resourced and supported as they seek to serve their communities through elected offices.”
