The Collective PAC Congratulates Our Endorsed Georgia Candidates on Advancing in Their Races

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — congratulates our endorsed candidates on advancing in their races.

 

  • State Representative William Boddie is running for Georgia Labor Commissioner.  State Rep. Boddie currently serves in Georgia’s 46th District for the Georgia House of Representatives. He is the Founder of Boddie & Associates, LLC and has been actively practicing law since 2005, specializing in personal injury and criminal defense law. If elected, State Rep. Boddie plans to advocate for higher wages and reopen the Georgia Department of Labor, and invest in education and economic development by merging business training programs with labor and community organizations.

 

  • Ms. Imani Barnes is running to represent Georgia’s 86th District in the Georgia House of  Representatives. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree from South Carolina State University and currently is a public health Ph.D. candidate. Ms. Banres is a public health professional and youth development coach. Ms. Barnes is running to be a voice for the unheard and underprivileged.  If elected, she plans to advocate for voting rights, youth development programs, LGBTQ and women’s rights, and address the lack of affordable housing.

The Collective PAC Congratulates Zachary Parker on His Primary Victory for D.C. City Council

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government, congratulates Zachary Parker on his primary victory for D.C. City Council.

 

  • Mr. Zachary Parker is running for D.C. City Council in Ward Five. Mr. Parker is an educator and currently serves as the President of the D.C. State Board of Education. Mr. Parker is a graduate of Northwestern University and received his Master’s Degree from Columbia University, Teachers College. Mr. Parker has invested and uplifted the community by establishing the Ward Five Education Equity Committee, Ward Five Back-To-School Supplies Giveaway, and many other programs. If elected, Mr. Parker plans to create a comprehensive plan for public safety, and invest in the community through educational and economic development opportunities.

The Collective PAC Endorses a Slate of Candidates In State & Local Races in Maryland

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  — endorsed a slate of candidates in state and local races in Maryland. 

  • Delegate Andrea Harrison is running for re-election to Maryland’s House of Delegates in District 24. Delegate Harrison previously served Maryland as a City Councilwoman for Prince George’s County. In 2021, Delegate Harrison aided in the building of Prince George’s County  Regional Medical Center,  now titled the University of Maryland Capital Region Health. If re-elected, Delegate Harrison plans to prioritize accessible healthcare and mental care services, uplift and improve education in the district, and increase economic development.

  • Delegate Rachel Jones is running for re-election to Maryland’s House of Delegates in District 27B. Delegate Jones was appointed in 2021 to finish the remainder of former Delegate Mike Jackson’s term, and created history by becoming the first Black woman to represent Calvert and Prince George’s County.  If re-elected, Delegate Jones plans to continue to advocate for voting rights, affordable housing, expand services and resources for students, and clean waterways. 


  • Delegate Gabriel Acevero is running for re-election to Maryland’s House of Delegates in District 39. During his first term, Delegate Acevero wrote and sponsored Anton’s Law, formerly known as the Maryland Police Accountability Act of 2021. This legislation made police discipline and complaint records available to the public. If re-elected, Delegate Acevero plans to advocate for workers’ rights and affordable housing, and continue to sponsor legislation such as the Healthy Maryland Act, which would provide healthcare at an affordable price.  


  • Committee Member Diana Emerson is running for re-election to Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee in District 43. Committee member Emerson currently serves the communities in Baltimore as the Senior Director of Entrepreneurial and Workforce Experiences for Junior Achievement of Central Maryland. Ms. Emerson has organized community cleanup initiatives, back-to-school drives, and a National Night Out, a focused event to promote an inclusive and safe environment. If re-elected Committee Member Emerson plans to continue to increase voter registration, advocate for increased retail opportunities for small businesses and support for urban farmers, and increased wages. 

 

  • Councilmember Will Jawando is running for re-election to the Montgomery County Council At-Large.  Councilmember Jawando currently serves on the Education and Culture Committee and the Planning, Housing, and Economic Development Committee. Councilmember Jawando is the co-founder of the African Immigrant Caucus, an organization that focuses on increased civic engagement, economic development, and political participation of Africans in Maryland, D.C., and Virginia. If re-elected, Councilmember Jawando plans to continue to advocate for affordable housing, educational advancement, and economic development.

The Collective PAC Endorses a Slate of Candidates for State & Local Races In Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and North Carolina

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  — endorsed a slate of candidates in state and local races in Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and North Carolina.

Illinois

  • Mr. Marcus Herbert is running for Sheriff in Rock Island County, Illinois. Mr. Herbert is a Rock Island County native, and for the past 17 has been protecting and serving with the community as a Correctional Officer, Patrol Deputy, and a member of the Quad City Bomb Squad. He aspires to uplift and empower the community by revitalizing the GED program and introducing career development services. If elected, Mr. Herbert plans to include Social Services in dispatch calls and improve the recruitment and retention of the Sheriff’s office.

 

Massachusetts

  • City Councilor Eunice Zeigler is running for State Senate in the First Essex District. During her tenure as a  member of the Methuen City Council, City Councilor Zeigler founded the Economic Development Committee and the community celebrated Methuen Day, a day for community celebration and engagement.  If elected, City Councilor Zeigler plans to advocate for affordable housing, increased public education funding, and a comprehensive plan for infrastructure.

 

Michigan

  • State Representative Joe Tate is running for re-election to Michigan’s House of Representatives in District Ten. Prior to serving in Michigan’s House of Representatives, State Rep. Tate served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer. During his tenure in the state house, State Rep. Tate’s legislation led to the reopening of the Lewis College of Business, Michigan’s only recognized HBCU. If re-elected, State Rep. Tate plans to increase the quality of education and youth programs in the district, create job opportunities and stimulate economic growth, and invest in public transportation.

 

  • Mr. Larry Jackson is running for Michigan’s House of Representatives in District 86. Mr. Jackson is a Navy veteran and former Vice President for the Chicago Eco House, a nonprofit that alleviates poverty through building sustainability projects. If elected, Mr. Jackson plans to invest in education throughout the district by enhancing recruitment and retention, creating a comprehensive plan for infrastructure, and advocating for accessible healthcare and housing.

North Carolina

  • State Representative Terry Brown is running for re-election to North Carolina’s House in District 92. Prior to serving as a State, he served on the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities as a board member and served as Organizer and Chair for Mecklenburg County Democratic Party Precinct 23. Currently, State Rep. Brown is in his first term, and if re-elected, he aspires to improve public education, expand broadband access, advocate for accessible mental health, expand Medicaid, and increase the minimum wage.

The Collective PAC Congratulates Representative Steven Horsford & Attorney General Aaron Ford On Primary Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  —  the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government  —  congratulates U.S. Representative Steven Horsford and Attorney General Aaron Ford on their re-election primary victories in Nevada.

  • Representative Steven Horsford is running for re-election for Nevada’s Fourth Congressional District. Congressman Horsford was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and in 2012, he became the first Black person to represent the state in Congress. From the moment he got to Washington, Rep. Horsford has worked tirelessly to expand affordable healthcare, as well as economic opportunities and job programs that will help get Americans back on their feet. Throughout the pandemic, he has worked hard to stop COVID-19 in its tracks and helped to pass the CARES Act and the American Rescue Plan bringing direct relief to his community. 

 

  • Attorney General Aaron Ford is running for re-election for Attorney General in Nevada.  Attorney General Ford is a dedicated attorney and public servant, formerly representing District 11 in the Nevada State Senate, Attorney General Ford is a former State Senate Majority Leader. During his tenure as Majority Leader, he was able to increase transparency among pharmaceutical companies, open mental health and substance abuse programs, and encourage criminal justice reform through educational programs. Attorney General Ford’s dedication to addressing the opioid crisis in Nevada led to the state’s first settlement of $45 million given to families of the community affected by this tragedy.
