The Collective PAC Endorses Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos For Re-election in Rhode Island

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, The Collective PAC  — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation, and power across all levels of government — endorsed Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos for re-election in Rhode Island.

Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos is running for re-election as Lieutenant Governor in Rhode Island. Lt. Governor Matos is a graduate of Rhode Island College and the Latina Leadership Institute and Leadership for a Future.  Before being sworn into office, she served ten years on the Providence City Council. She made history in 2021 by becoming the first Black and Latina person and the second woman to serve as Lieutenant Governor. During her tenure, Lt. Governor Matos raised private funds for the Rhode Island Military Family Relief Fund, the relief fund was created for extending financial support to military families.

Governor Matos was a 20-year-old immigrant from the Dominican Republic who dared to dream big and overcame obstacles, that is the type of leader Rhode Island needs in order to thrive and be pushed into a new era of progress. Her top priorities are small businesses, expanding job-training opportunities, and developing new housing, and programs for the elderly. We are proud to support and help Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos as she continues her legacy of breaking racial and gender boundaries and putting the community’s needs first.”
