The Collective PAC Endorses Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia

Thursday, December 2nd, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, The Collective PAC — the nation’s largest political action committee dedicated to increasing Black political engagement, representation and power across all levels of government — endorsed Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia.

Stacey Abrams, who was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2006, has served the state of Georgia and her hometown of Atlanta for the majority of her career. In November of 2010, Ms. Abrams was elected to serve as minority leader of the house of representatives and oversaw the state’s largest public transportation funding package, stopped the largest tax increase in Georgia, and reformed the HOPE program — the state’s scholarship and grant program for students attending colleges, universities and technical colleges in Georgia.

A seasoned legislator, activist and national political leader, Stacey Abrams has spent the last few years establishing and leading Fair Fight Action, an organization to assist Democrats in building voter protection teams in 20 states for the 2020 presidential election cycle. Ms. Abrams has been largely credited with helping to register 800,000 new voters in Georgia. As governor, she will help improve the quality of life for all residents and make strategic investments to strengthen the state.

Founders of The Collective PAC, Quentin James and Stefanie Brown James, released the following statement:

The Collective PAC is excited to once again endorse Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia. Ms. Abrams has the proven track record to become the first Black woman governor of Georgia, and is a fierce advocate for affordable health care, education and criminal justice reform and protections for small farms and businesses. In 2018, Ms. Abrams came incredibly close to becoming governor of Georgia, and if the election was conducted fairly, the U.S. could have had our first Black woman governor. Instead of giving up after that tough loss, she doubled down on her commitment to her community, registered more voters and helped turn Georgia Blue in 2020. The Collective PAC is proud to support Stacey Abrams’ historic candidacy to become the first Black woman to serve as governor of the Peach State on day one of her campaign.”
